ABOUT

BTS 1-1

I’m Shivani, a freelance colorist and filmmaker based in India. In 2018, I started grading my own short films, most of which were shot in natural light and uncontrolled environments, with all the unpredictability that comes with documentary and independent filmmaking.

I’ve since collaborated remotely with filmmakers in the US, Switzerland, and India on documentary and narrative projects.

Some films needed cohesion across footage shot on everything from iPhones to cinema cameras. Others were more about developing a look from cinematic references and carrying that tone across the film.

Throughout, my approach has been to support the story’s emotion while making sure the grade feels natural rather than imposed on the image.
